The Stone Roses To Reform and Release New Material

The Stone Roses To Reform and Release New Material

Tuesday 18th October, 2011 10:22AM

UPDATE: This has been confirmed - The Stone Roses will embark on a world tour in 2012 starting with two shows in their hometown of Manchester in June.  They also confirmed they will be releasing and performing new material.

Rumours are once again circulating about The Stone Roses reforming and apparently releasing new material. It was only just five months ago that Stone Roses bassist Mani lashed out angrily at media for spreading rumours about a reunion which claimed singer Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire had 'buried the hatchet' at his monther's funeral. He was quoted by NME saying "Please fuck off and leave it alone. It isn’t true and isn’t happening.”

Both NME and site Louder Than War are claiming the reunion is definitely on but it looks like The Sun are involved again (they were responsible for the rumour in April) so we are wary. Here is NME's story and here is Louder Than War's.
