To celebrate the launch of MySpace Music in New Zealand, MySpace is hosting a massive launch party for Kiwi MySpace users, featuring some of New Zealand’s best homegrown talent including Midnight Youth, The Brunettes, The Naked and Famous, The Family Cactus and The EarlyBirds, at Galatos in Auckland on November 4th.
Bringing everything MySpace offers online, offline, this all ages launch party will by hosted by C4’s Drew Neemia and will not only present five of New Zealand’s finest to Auckland music lovers for FREE, but will also give MySpace users an opportunity to experience the new MySpace Music product.
“MySpace Music now delivers Kiwi’s unprecedented access to the music and artists they love, as well as giving artists an unparalleled opportunity to connect with their fans. We’re very excited about bringing this experience and ethos offline with the MySpace Music launch party. Part music festival, part product showcase, the MySpace Music launch will truly bring the MySpace Music digital experience to life,” explains Nick Love, Business Development Director MySpace Australian and New Zealand.
The MySpace Music launch party comes one month after the MySpace Music product arrived in New Zealand. A joint venture among MySpace, EMI Music, Sony Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, MySpace Music offers Kiwi’s access to content from the four major music labels, as well as access to The Orchard and IODA catalogues - two of the largest independent digital music aggregators – for free.
The first territory outside of the United States to launch MySpace Music, New Zealanders can now experience this ever-growing catalogue of fully licensed audio tracks, personal music players, user and artist playlisting, as well as the opportunity to purchase and download single songs and full albums on iTunes.
To RSVP MySpace users are asked to go to MySpace Music page http://music.myspace.com/ where they will find a code to SMS in order to be sent a unique ticket to their mobile which will secure their entry.
