Club Mini Bio’s

QUAY ST SOCIAL CLUB

Long standing indie club night, now turned DJ troupe. Theyʼve hosted most of the big indie acts that have come through Auckland, and are an institution of the Auckland indie scene. Theyʼve now turned mobile disco performing all over town and at festivals like Big Day out and Rhythm and Vines. You’ll also know them from their weekly radio show on George

SOHOMO

“Auckland’s best bar” – “Aucklandʼs undisputed big gay night out” – METRO 07/08
‘Sohomoʼ the gay friendly avant-garde fortnightly themed romp where the hip, young, beautiful and fashionable gather every second Thursday for a guaranteed good stomp.” – 1AM MAGAZINE 08/08
“SOHOMO feels like a particularly cool Grey Lynn house party that you’ve been lucky enough to gatecrash.” – SUNDAY STAR TIMES, ABOUT TOWN 23/12/07
“One of Auckland’s best club nights in possibly forever! – UNDERTHERADAR.CO.NZ 12/9/08

THURSDAY NIGHT TEA PARTY

Founded by Daniel Farley and Maya, this ripped a hole in the dance scene pushing an indie tip not seen on this scale before. Their current once a month Thursdayʼs at Cassette number nine are one of cassetteʼs biggest nights and widly successful!

YAM JAMS

Self written bio… Yam Jams is hosted by Johnny Elbo and Rohan St Claire first friday of every month. Chicks and dudes drankin and dancin! fun fun sillytimes and pinball and special guests and drink specials. party Music - Hip Hop, cheese, blue eyed soul, nice techno, NY disco, acid house, with some brown sugar for sweetness. As my girlfriend said You like wailing women johnny . Yam Jams has played with the likes of Dj Sega ( B-more USA ) Horse Meat Disco ( London ) Slap and dash (oz) and KILLA QUEENZ (oz). The funnest little monthly club night in Auckland.
