Model is a beautiful mess & a trio of eye-candy from Tāmaki Makarau. Their
hyper-dysfunctional lyrics, eruptive dynamics and nervy melodies form wigged-out
tracks that feed off the crowd for an unforgettable show.
Following the release of their debut EP, A Child Swimming, Tāmaki's hardest-working government funded industry plant are embarking on a 6 date tour around Te Ika-a-Māui.
Coming out through emerging local indie label T & M, the first stop on the tour is just a start, playing in an alleyway off Mercury Lane in the heart of Tāmaki.
Get down and see what all the dang fuss is about, pick up a boat load of merch, and support local music directly and all that!

GroopChat
This GroopChat has three members… no admin!
Huia (bass, vocals) Aiyana (guitar, vocals) Teina (drums/vocals) formed in 2023 and have been ripping through Tamaki Makaurau with a massive sound drawn from the heart, they create a blend of heavy angst, catchy pop like hooks and indie groove.
Although continuously evolving as conversation does, GroopChat originally draws inspiration from relationships and the world around them. Their sound is influenced by britpop and flying nun bands of the 90s, one of these being Elastica.
With three years of consistent gigging Groopchat has had the privilege to play some incredible shows like, 95bFM Fancy New Band Showcase, Othersway 2024, Great sounds Great at Flying Nun, Public Service with Awning, and Chris Knox’s book release with SJD and Don Mcglashan.
With all this under their belt the Groopchat is definitely not going to go dry, as the band is getting ready to release their debut EP that has been produced by the incredible Pip Brown (LadyHawke).
Keep your eyes out for an invite…
