Come witness a momentous and harmonious collision as representatives from various drumming communities around Auckland get together in support of Haiti. A troop of Rarotongan drummers, the batucada sounds of AK Samba and Ghanaian highlife band Zoh Zoh are in the mix as well as solo performances from drum maestros Chris O’Connor, Julien Dyne and Lucky Paul. DJs Uncle Barnie and Bobby Brazuka will be playing along with drummers and percussionists such as Alistair Deverick and Ben Anderson and later on in the evening Nick D will be playing some fresh chunky African club tunes accompanied by live djembe players.
The Monte Christo Room will be transformed for the night into a beat temple - complete with magicians, dancers and voodoo mammas painting your face.
