Raekwon joined the staten island, NY based wu tang collective in the early 90’s and played an important role on their ground breaking late 1993 debut album enter the wu tang(36 chambers)

He always kept himself fresh, he had a gumby haircut, the Gucci shoes and he had the freshest slang of anybody. Slang was his masterpiece, and when raekwon first got on the mic you’d never heard anybody like that in the whole history of hiphop. Most people agree the Cuban linx album has the most slang ever in hiphop. He had his own terms for everything.

Following his 1994 debut single, “heaven and hell” his own solo debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, appeared in 1995. A serious contender for the title of best Wu Tang solo album (rivaled only by the genius’ liquid swords), Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is also perhaps the most influential thanks to Raekwons cinematic imagination. Here he translates the epic themes and narratives of a mafia movie into a startlingly accomplished Hiphop album
Singles like ice cream and Criminology earned him a reputation in the Hiphop underground

Raekwon returned to the Wu Tang fole for the group’s 1997 sophomore effort Wu Tang Forever. That album was followed by his second solo album “Immobilarity” was released in late 1999

Raekwon latest realease Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II is the fourth studio album was included on several notable publishers Album of the Year lists, including; Rolling Stone magazine, which ranked it the twenty-fifth best album of 2009.
