WHAM BAM! ONE NIGHT OF FOLK ROCK GOODNESS
Tui nominated singer/songwriter Mel Parsons comes to town for a night of folk rock goodness at Juice Bar with the support of local rocker Dylan Storey.
The show coincides with the release of Mel’s music video for the track \Still Life\, from Parsons acclaimed debut album “Over My Shoulder”. Parsons has a spark that rarely disappoints in a live setting, and armed with a swag of instantly catchy songs presents a show ranging from rollicking & country inspired right down to the mellow and heartfelt. Parsons backing band The Rhythm Kings is an all-star cast comprised of Jeremy Toy (Opensouls), Chris O’Connor (Don McGlashan et al), Neil Watson (former guitarist for Anika Moa, Tim Finn) and Sami Sisters - Anji and Priya.
Fresh from supporting the Mountain Goats, Dylan Storey will be performing a stripped down version of his \psychedelic blues/country/rock/kiwi\ sound, with an acoustic set featuring Sam Prebble (Bond Street Bridge) and another local starlet - singer/songwriter Reb Fountain. Storey is performing songs from his critically acclaimed album “Out of the Soup” as well as road testing new material for a new EP tentatively titled “The Power of Suggestion”.
