BATS Theatre proudly welcome folk duo Rosy Tin Teacaddy to the stage for four nights, May 19 -22.
COFFE CUPS & A PORRIDGE POT AT FRYING PAN LAKE
Billy Earl and Betty Grey are packing up their hatchback with guitars, a laptop and omnichord for their self-imposed exile on the shores of Lake Tarawera. The abandoned Harbourmasters hut is due to become part bivouac and part recording studio for the pair as part of their six-week Wild Creations Artist in Residence programme. Far from cell-phone range, internet connection and modern appliances they attempt to write and record a site-responsive album exploring the history of the area. Expect an evening of driving-music played live in your front seat as Rosy Tin Teacaddy steer their story-telling magic through New Zealand’s most volatile landscape.
