velvet tiger presents ...

DOUG JEREBINE & BILLY TK ...

performing in Auckland for first time ever ...

Doug Jerebine recorded an album worth of material in London in 1969 which was never officially released (though pirated in the 90s). Acetates of the recording found their way into the hands of the Human Instinct and were covered by them on their first two LPs, Burning Up Years & Stoned Guitar, with Billy TK playing sonic, mind-melting, lead guitar.

Doug has spent much of the last 40 years based in India translating ancient sanskrit text. Currently based in the UK, he has recently been on Waiheke Island and performed in Port Chalmers at Chicks, Lyttelton at El Santo & Wellington at Happy where he was joined by Billy TK for a ‘sonic jam’ that had jaws thudding on the floor in disbelief.

Doug’s group features Miles Gillett (son of Bob Gillett – Doug’s Brew bandmate from 1967/68) on drums , and Chris Orange (ex The Terrorways & Features) on bass.

He will be joined by Billy TK for their first ever Auckland performance together at two incredibly small venues.

Check out the link below of Doug performing live on Radio One’s breakfast show.

Hey Thanks to Time Out NZHeraLD For their trusty GigGuide i found Doug Jerebine and Billy TK My Old friend Billy TK Still ripping it up & Lucha Lounge what a nice intimate venue for the the two Legends to perform in. It`s reminiscent of LittleBoPeep & The Galaxy back in the 60`s, Now they were the days.
