Come listen to the cool jazz sounds of The Masque Jazz Quartet at the Ivory Lounge. The quartet plays a selection of jazz, old school classics, popular and original music. Suzanne Butler, a jazz vocalist, will be opening for the quartet and warming things up with a selection of classics. Come have a glass or two and enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
The Masque Quartet was originally established by Opeloge Ah Sam in 2005 and has performed at a variety of events including TVNZ Xmas Specials, FIFA Under 19 Womens Soccer World Cup Opening Gala, various charity events and private functions, as well as performing for Her Royal Highness Princess Anne and His Highness Tupua Tamasese.
Opeloge Ah Sam is a composer, conductor, pianist and teacher in the field of music for over 15 years in NZ, Australia, the USA, Japan and in the Pacific. Additional to The Masque Quartet, Ope’s extensive music experience includes performing for Fight for Life, Rove Live, NZ Music Awards, AFL Grand Final Footy Show and Coca Cola Xmas in the Park. He also runs workshops and lectures about music and education, and speaks as a guest lecturer at several tertiary institutions including Melbourne University, Unitec and MIT (Manukau).
