VIDEOTHEQUE brings the cream of New Zealand’s eclectic, disjointed and diverse electronic music scene together to create a night that sets a new standard for club nights in Wellington. With our dedicated VJ team utilizing infinite projectors there is definitely good times to be had and surprises in store. As for the music the 2nd VIDEOTHEQUE lineup is ashamedly smashing.

----------------

NORTH SHORE PONY CLUB: As a couple of kids reared on 80s pop sophistication our music is an amalgamation of black gold and white trash mixed up in a bastard disco blender.

Aaron met Matt in the smoking section of the departure lounge in honolulu after chasing the infamous 50 year swell. After a magical jam session at the open mike night at the Ponamu, we decided to form the now defunkt electro punkabilly 80s cover band Thunderbox. We got on a roll and spent last summer touring the outer of islands of Japan . Unfortunately our bass player, Luke Mcarthur, became tragically hooked on sake and Japanese school girls. Distancing himself from the group he forced the devastating break-up of the seminal act. We had to sell our guitars to get back to New Zealand. In such times of despair we turned to our trusty four legged friends and thus the North Shore Pony Club was born.

During the daytime Matt is the chairman of a Hong Kong gambling syndicate and Aaron is a freelance bass player for the LA adult entertainment industry.

Aaron is in fact the bastard son of Keith Richards, thanks to the Stones tour of 1979 and one magical night nesting on the moonlit shores of takapuna beach.

----------------

TV DISKO is the mastermind and child of the all powerful Geoff Stahl. A semi-regular party night usually at the Mighty Mighty bar, this eclectic mix of obscure, off-kilter and long since forgotten sub- genres of electro, spunky new wave edits, and cosmic dance floor space disco always make you groove a little harder and sexier than you thought was possible. TV DISKO is a night that always goes off.

----------------

LENO LOVECRAFT: All we have been able to ascertain about Leno Lovecraft is that he/she is 18 years old and from Whanganui. Oh, and that he/she is amazingly talented; clearly. Apparently already drawing attention from some of big overseas hitters (namely Erol Alkan who has worked with people like Mylo, Bloc Party, and Daft Punk – and was awarded Mixmag’s 2006 DJ of the Year Award) – Leno Lovecraft is a name to watch for sure. The NEW album is pack-jammed with ideas; in fact each track in itself has more ideas in it than many of your average ‘bands’ have in an entire career! Each track is a small opus in itself! It’s sample-heavy – and I imagine, therefore officially unrelease-able in anything but a free mixtape format – but mark our words here – this guy/gal will go far when the right ears hear them. Amazing. What do y’reckon Whanganui' I’ll take the bag!

----------------

LA BANQUE - is a collective crew of DJs who share an interest in a little known yet vast genre called Italo Disco. In early 2009 they somehow all decided to put on a party that showcased this fantastic pioneering genre of electro. LA BANQUE was born. Seven parties later and a growing fan base, the LA BANQUE crew are broadening there scope and including Synth Pop, Early Techno and House hits so there will be no reason for this party not to last until very early!

----------------

BROOKE LA BROOKE - Recent auckland transplant with a few aliass; brooke, arnold, bentin, darrmer. Conspirator for such projects as the Desktop Icons, Prince Diana, Italica, Heaven v. Paradise.

Disco freak, vinyl fetishist, bringing out Anorak Jams for both the dancefloor and the heads, party people dont miss this. Brooke la Brooke brings a unique psyched out slow burning boogie experience.

Be there early, well be sending the kind of vibes thatll have your insides screamin out for more, without breaking 125 bpm, and a special stash of his edits and remixes on exhibit, coz thats how we do.

----------------
