Kaipatiki Project, the Environment Centre of the North Shore, proudly presents an environmental film festival for all Aucklanders to enjoy. Supported by Academy Cinemas and Good magazine, these award-winning productions will be shared with audiences at the Academy Cinema in Lorne Street, Auckland City on four consecutive Sundays in October at 4pm (10 – 31).
The four films were chosen because they resonate closely with Kaipatiki Project’s own diverse work of planting trees, protecting wildlife habitats and promoting sustainable living. They will also ring true with Aucklands particular environmental challenges of protecting our unique biodiversity, getting around the city easily or simply shopping sustainably.
Showing on 24 October, homegrown film ‘The Unnatural History of the Kakapo’ (New Zealand 2009) is the award-winning story of our native kakapo’s rescue from the brink of extinction.
