The Trons robot garage band release their first CD + DVD double album. They are joined for the night by DEAN.. legendary 4 guitar + casiotone band in their first gig in 5 years (also with a new album)
The Trons are 4 junk robot musicians with human instruments. They play garage type indie rock, influenced by the likes of the Clean, Feelies, and Stereolab. They have been gigging the last 3 years, NZ and abroad and have finally managed to get into the studio long enough to get this album finished. The album is a double disk, 10 track CD and DVD, with music videos by underground film director Emit Snakebeings.
The Trons return to the Wine Cellar for the first time in 2 years for the first gig of their album release tour. DEAN will kick off the night, and may return for a bit to join forces with the machines at the end. The show includes projected visuals live from the robot mechanisms.
The Trons can be seen and heard at
their websites below.
The bands will wind up at 11pm, when the Whammy bar takes over with the Futurians, Rahmane and the Spunks till the wee hours.
