The Cuban Brothers are unique. Born of the loins of seventies Havana, nurtured on a diet of soulful, sexy tunes and inspired by Cuban historical fact and mythology their fresh approach to live entertainment whips up a frenzy at every gig. Their legendary performance combines music, riotous comedy, and sensational dancing - most of all we have fun!! So we hope you do too!!!
Taking it right back, The Cuban Brothers launched by storming UK club land with their passionate attitude towards partying and performing. Their unique flavour made nights out tasty again and their rise to fame has been meteoric. From stealing the main stage at Manumission to hosting the NME Awards The Cuban Brothers soon became the most desirable act to book for the coolest live events. MTV were soon hot on their trail and in 2002 The Cuban Brothers started presenting music specials including festival coverage of Homelands and Creamfields, MTV in Ibiza and the MTV Music Awards.
Mike Keat (Miguel Mantovani) - is the leader and founder of the Cuban Brothers. A natural born entertainer and all round show-off and nice guy, Miguels charisma has charmed many that have come across his lifes path. From DJing, singing, MCing, b-boying and to managing clubs in Edinburgh, Mike has served his time in the industry. A multi-faceted talent, he is an actor of many accents and guises, a singer in and outside the Cuban Brothers, a comic who will be taking his own show to the Edinburgh festival - real talent has no end!!!
Archie Easton (Archerio) - was roped in by Miguel to play his sidekick after Archie wiped the floor at a dance battle with Mike at one of Edinburghs hip hop nights. Here also began a lifelong friendship and a working dynamic that has developed and evolved through the years. People have often wondered Wow, that fat guy can really dance!! - B-boys will know that he was the MVP at the seminal UK Breakdance Championships 1996 and opening act for the Prodigy (along with Tuff Tim Twist, Evo and Brian) on their Fat of the Land tour. Dancing is in his blood!
Kengo Oshima (Kengo san) - met the boys while studying in Edinburgh where he began his love affair with dance. His first show with Mike was in a small pub on the Cowgate at a pub quiz hosted by Fitz NicenTight (another of Mikes incarnations). At the gig was planted the seeds for the eventual conception of Kengo San, a dancer and fever man who can make you come without touching you.
The Cuban Brothers set to explode on Thursday 10th February at the San Francisco Bath House.
