Back in NZ fresh from six months travel through South East Asia and India, Neil brings this ensemble of progressive musicians together to perform an evening of contemporary original compositions, unexpected standards and eclectic sounds/feels that draw influences from Raga to Kiwiana and more. Joining Neil will be Maree Thom (Don McGlashan and the Topp Twins), Alistair Deverick (Ryan McPhun and the Ruby Suns) and inventive Auckland legend Frank Conway on percussion
Neil has performed and recorded with a large array of national and international artists spanning a wide variety of musical genres that include jazz, blues, rock, pop, country and more. In 2001 he released his debut jazz record ‘Unification’ and continues to develop his unique fusion of styles as a solo artist through varying performances, practices, recordings and line-ups. Over the years Neil has had the pleasure to work with artists such as Michael Brecker, the Finn brothers, Mike Nock, Frank Gibson, Anika Moa and more. His regular trio opened for George Benson in 2007 and has performed in varying residencies and festivals throughout New Zealand.
