THE WHISKEY LIVE is a series of concerts presented annually by The Whiskey bar in Auckland’s Ponsonby Road as a celebration of New Zealand Music Month each May. Featuring a broad spectrum of New Zealand musicians performing one of a kind, limited capacity shows THE WHISKEY LIVE is fast becoming a headline attraction of New Zealand Music Month each year.
Motocade, a four piece Indie pop band from Auckland has toured extensively throughout New Zealand as well as performing in Australia an America over the last few years, building themselves a strong following in the process. With a style that fits somewhere in amongst the intensity of The Strokes, the groove of Talking Heads and the scattered beauty of early Kings Of Leon, seeing Motocade live is something not to be missed.
Supported by Clap Clap Riot (who took their name from the applause machine designed for Top Of The Pops in the 1980’s), Clap Clap Riot burst on to the scene in 2009 with the release of their debut EP TV Knows Better. With a live show that could set any crowd alight, the shaggy-haired twenty somethings have been making a mark on the music industry with performances on MTV Australias prestigious The Lair; in front of an estimated 140,000 at the Christchurch earthquake relief concert and at all of New Zealands major music festivals including the Big Day Out, Rhythm and Vines and Splore. The band have also played a number of shows alongside acts: The Naked and Famous, British India (AUS), The Datsuns, The Scare (AUS), Cut Off Your Hands and completed nationwide tours with The Checks and Motocade.
