THE WHISKEY LIVE is a series of concerts presented annually by THE WHISKEY bar in Auckland’s Ponsonby Road as a celebration of New Zealand Music Month each May. Featuring a broad spectrum of New Zealand musicians performing one of a kind, limited capacity shows; THE WHISKEY LIVE is fast becoming a headline attraction of New Zealand Music Month each year.
Annabel Fay was born a performer. With a voice that was brewing inside her as long as she could remember life itself, she always wanted to sing. Referring to it as her fulltime love, it would seem that there wasn’t ever really any other path that she would have pursued except for music.
It has been four years since the 2007 release of her debut self titled album, and four years have aged Fay’s vocals with strength, style and a renewed vigour. With her second album ‘Show Me The Right Way’ just released this month, Fay is eager to get back on the stage to do what she loves best – performing to a live audience. Expect to hear current hits River & Show Me The Right Way as well as her chart topping hits from her debut album.
Opening the evening, Jan Hellriegel, a New Zealand born singer/songwriter who signed a solo record deal in 1991. She released two albums to Australasian critical acclaim - It’s My Sin (1992), Tremble (1995) and her latest offering, All Grown Up (2009) won a gold award at the pride in print awards and was critically acclaimed with multiple 5 star reviews.
In 1993 Jan was awarded the Most Promising Female Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year at the New Zealand Music Awards.
Both Fay and Hellreigal return for the second year of Whiskey Live - back by popular demand.
