THE WHISKEY LIVE is a series of concerts presented annually by THE WHISKEY bar in Auckland’s Ponsonby Road as a celebration of New Zealand Music Month each May. Featuring a broad spectrum of New Zealand musicians performing one of a kind, limited capacity shows; THE WHISKEY LIVE is fast becoming a headline attraction of New Zealand Music Month each year.
Avalanche City’s single ‘Love, Love, Love’ is the closest that NZ Music has come to an overnight success story in a very long time. ‘Love, Love Love’, the first single off the recently released ‘Our New Life Above the Ground’ album; the track has taken the NZ singles chart by storm, peaking at # 1 with wide international interest and radio play.
Avalanche City is the brain child of Dave Baxter, a musician who’s background stretches across many genres and influences culminating in a sound that is an impressive and eclectic range of various instruments, melodies and harmonies. The depth and perspective create a dynamic atmosphere that is rich and raw all at once. The epicenter of Avalanche City is Baxter himself who writes, conceives, produces, records and plays every instrument on this debut album.
