This is the second concert featuring Wellington performers that Acoustic Routes is hosting to mark New Zealand Music Month.
PARCEL: Cool jazz and folk from Murray Kilpatrick, Sue Rose, Marion and Barry Carter.
FERAL: a three-piece of percussion, bass, guitar/harp and vocals, playing predominantly original music with a few covers. Styles range from blues to reggae, country, jazz and punk.
NIELS GEDGE AND FRIENDS:
Niels Gedge is a New Zealand songwriter whose songs draw on the landscapes of Aotearoa to tell stories that reflect on life and the echoes of lives past. He works in Appalachian folk, country, blues, spiritual, gospel and soul idioms and will mostly be singing songs from his CD Between Two Lines. Niels is joined for this set by the outstanding fiddler Fiona Smythe and Helen Dorothy, another local songwriter and by Derek Burfield on upright bass.
10DD:
An all-women a cappella group inspired by the music of 10cc - a 70s UK band of gifted songwriters with a knack for puns and a warped sense of humour.
They perform Im Not in Love, Art for Arts Sake, Dreadlock Holiday and other 10cc tunes youll recognise, often with surprise.
