Harbour Basin Community get together with The Black Velvet Band - great music, dance, supper & rugby on screen will be taking place on Saturday, Jun 11th at Living Springs.
Often cited as being New Zealand's greatest influence on the folk rock revival, The Black Velvet Band, formed in 1990 at The Loft bar, Christchurch have maintained energy, freshness, and good time attitude, always delivering a rollicking live show. With their distinct sound, The Black Velvet Band embraces traditional and contemporary Celtic songs, original compositions and fresh interpretations of old favourites. The Black Velvet Band generate an intense energy and have performed at many high profile events around New Zealand including headline shows on New Years Eve in Cathedral Square, Christchurch, the Hokitika Wild Food Festival and have even combined their music with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.The Black Velvet Band make music for dancing so whatever your musical taste, they will always get you up on your feet.
Come & hear them locally! The get together will take place on Saturday, Jun 11th from 7pm at Living Springs, 218 Bamfords Road, rugby will be on screen and supper provided. Entrance is $25 per person, bar will be avail. Event R18.
