July 7th at Happy on Tory Street
Doors open at 7pm. First act on at 8pm
$10 entry
NZ Live Entertainment is bringing a showcase of Wellington bands to Happy on Thursday July 7th at 8pm. Guests from past Black Cotton events will be playing alongside other notorious acts:
Fraser Ross, folk artist/gipsy rocker from Newtown Rock Steady will be going it alone to play songs from his recently released solo EP.
Sean Kirkwood as seen alongside NZ musical greats such as Darron Watson and Dan Green at the recent Black Cotton Blues Sessions will be playing as part of the build up to his appearance to the Bay of Islands International Jazz & Blues Festival.
Habit and Veil will be playing their trademark blend of strange and unsettling dark-country, murder-blues, white-soul and lost-love laments.
Julia Catherine Parr can normally be seen at behind the microphone on stage with ambient funk rock band Brockaflowersaurs-Rex and country-folk band Big River Chain. But tonight she will take centre stage, along with her supporting band The Mystery Men, to deliver a beautiful and soulful set.
Renowned for his boyish good looks, witty on stage banter, and accomplishments as part of the band Coney Island Swamp Monster, Finn Johansson, master of the banjo and accordianisto, is set to offer up an intimate hour of his best solo arrangements.
Doors open at 7pm with the first act at 8pm. $10 entry.
