Meow has a soulful line up of smooth uplifting sounds on Thursday the 7th of July from 8pm with Malisa Palalagi’s I Am The Light, Matiu Te Huki and Beth Tibbo.
I Am The Light is characterized by Malisa Palalagi’s combination of soothing vocals and smooth, professionally executed guitar stylings. Influenced by Blues, Jazz, Funk, Rockabilly, Hip Hop and Soul this up and coming act will leave you with songs humming in your head long after you’ve heard them. An EP is on the way, to be recorded in Wellington.
Matiu Te Huki has been performing in bands around NZ for twenty years collaborating with artists such as Tiki Tane, Anika Moa, DLT and more. He is know for his amazing vocal skills and power, his ability to connect to , hold and lift a crowd. Matiu was the founding member of popular roots band Homefire Burning and is a current member of bands Basscamp, and My Golden Soul. The messages in his music are positive, uplifting, inspiring and motivating with the sounds of soulful roots, dub funk and hip hop.
