Polter, a three piece instrumental act now with recently added vocal intensity of Arie Bleach, are New Zealands fastest rising Progressive/Psychedelic/Post-Rock act. Originally from Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, Polter took inspiration from the renowned local Post-Rock band Jakob. After having relocated to Wellington they are set to carve out their own success based on a style and sound unique to Polter according to lead guitarist Dean Blackwell.
Polter are currently working on their first yet-to-be-named EP due to be released this summer. (http://www.facebook.com/polterband)

Funkacybin are a high energy four piece funk band who draw inspiration from a broad spectrum of influences ranging from The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Incubus to Tool and Pink Floyd.
With a guitarist funkier than funk itself, a bassist with more groove than the 70's could have dreamed of, a drummer with the intensity of a thousand suns and a vocalist with the pipes to rival any rock god, Funkacybin are set to rock the socks off The Garden Club crowd on the 6th. Brockaflowersaurus-Rex and the Blueberry Biscuits are a 10 piece band, self described as 'Psychedelic Neo-Soul Hip-Hop Chunk Funk Fusion' with a sound as big as their name. At the core of this truly epic musical experience is Pat Stewart driving their set along on a road of MPC beats, samples and phat bass licks, teamed with Ashton Sellars on guitar and Thomas Friggins on drums. As a stand alone trio their musical skills defy all logic, though they are constantly adding accompaniments throughout the show pushing the band out to four vocalists including Louis Baker and Julia Catherine Parr, and a three piece horn section. Rounding off the list are the Placid Saints, a four piece Rock/Funk/Soul band who seem to have captured the essence of the balance between dark and light. Like the other bands on the roster, Placid Saints have found inspiration in a host of different places. As a result their sound is an intense but elegant blend of guitars, bass and drums with smatterings of Tool, Shapeshifter, Pink Floyd, and even Katchafire all making for an experience not to be forgotten.
