Gig Information

Deerhoof will play Australian and New Zealand shows around Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain Festival in January 2012, bringing their jaw-dropping, through-the-roof-high-energy live show to Auckland, Wellington, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Deerhoof is a four-piece pop band who some consider to be noise or experimental music, but come on, just listen to it for a minute. Or come to their Australian shows and sing/dance along in person. Extra points for knowing the lyrics and/or the complicated clapping parts. This is Deerhoof’s first middle and last tour of Australia on their current album Deerhoof Vs. Evil.

Described by Pitchfork as 'the best band in the world', Deerhoof have been creating cutting edge, inventive art-pop music for over sixteen years. One of the most unlikely success stories in contemporary music, Deerhoof made some of the most difficult and unclassifiable noise of the mid-nineties, before unexpectedly rising to international prominence as one of indie rock's most renowned and influential groups. Deerhoof have influenced the sound of many of their contemporaries, including Xiu Xiu, Dirty Projectors, Ponytail, Of Montreal and St. Vincent.  Renowned for their musical innovativeness and the ability to constantly reinvent their sound, Deerhoof have toured the world over and have performed with the likes of Radiohead, Sonic Youth and The Flaming Lips. Their eleventh full length album Deerhoof vs Evil, which was released earlier this year, encapsulates Deerhoof's exuberance and impressive sonic abilities.

Do not miss your chance to see Deerhoof’s incredible show this Summer.
