Victoria Girling-Butcher and Lindon Puffin may have recorded with the same band, producers, engineer, in the same studio, but no one can accuse them of imitation.
The distinctive songwriters came up with vastly different albums, Summit Drive (VG-B) and Hope Holiday (LP).
On November 25 the pair are holding a release show at Backbeat Bar where they will showcase their differences and celebrate the musical contributions of the talented musicians that helped make the albums.
Summit Drive is the first album from Victoria Girling-Butcher since moving on from former band of ten years, Lucid3. The album was recorded with musicans/producers Jol Mulholland and Wayne Bell, and guitarist Andrew Keoghan. Mark Hughes will join the live band.
Having finished a highly successful fundraising tour of the country with fellow Lyttelton musicians ‘The Harbour Union’, Lindon Puffin turns his attention to releasing his third album Hope Holiday’. Lindon will perform at Backbeat with his live band, The Transgressions. He has supported Billy Bragg, Tenacious D, Anika Moa, Dave Dobbyn and has twice been judged live performer of the year (04 & 07).
