Wellington rockers Supermodel are teaming up with Christchurch wave-makers Sleeping Dogs in an eight-date tour throughout the North Island this summer. In a new manifestation of the Live and Loud Tour which took Sleeping Dogs throughout the South for 30 liver-bending shows in 2011, the newly recruited Supermodel join the crusade to bring rock to the masses as the final days of summer protest the onset of colder weather.
Supermodel are riding the wave of their successful debut album, To the Mountains released in September 2011, and are a highly experienced live outfit. Supporting some of our country’s finest musical exports including Midnight Youth and Gin Wigmore, Supermodel are right at home playing to a packed out pub or to a crowd of 15,000. Their focus is melody, harmony and a rocking tune and having a brother and sister fronting the band makes for an excellent live dynamic that should not be missed.
Sleeping Dogs are currently writing their sophomore album from their custom-built studio in Christchurch and are keen for more adventure. A recent foray to the North Island whetted the interest of both the band and their audiences and now they are back to deliver their musical message to the full. Technically adept and melodically interesting, Sleeping Dogs write powerful and dramatic songs. Fans of epic rock music must see this
