Newtown Festival

Attended by more than 70,000 people, the Newtown Festival Street Fair is New Zealand's largest free outdoor annual concert.
More than 70 performance acts on 8 stages accompanied by a busking pitch, two fairground sites, 350 stalls and outdoor dining at Newtown's cafés, restaurants, and bars.
Confirmed Acts for 2012 include The Nudge, Paul Ubana Jones, Newtown Rocksteady, Joe Blossom, Amiria Grenell, Fraser Ross, Mountaineater,
Heart Attack Alley... plus many many more local and national acts..
The Newtown Festival runs for 3 weeks in early March - check out the
website for other events and performances in Wellington's southern suburbs. Come along by bus if you can - most of Newtown is closed to traffic on the fair day.
