SAN FRAN & The African Community would like to present for the public; an evening of great music and a taste of original culture. 2012 marks the fourth year of AFRICA MUSIC DAY.

Africa Music Day represents the collective creativity of African musicians and dancers; featuring a melting pot of live music performances, playing music for dancers from the numerous cultural hotspots of Africa. This is a night to unite, to enjoy good music and delicious food from African continent.

The Event is showcase of African culture, with performers from across the continent. Music from Congo, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia will be played. Led by Sam Manzanza, the Wellington Afro Beat Maestro and his standout Afro Beat Band, this will be a night to remember.

The mixing of culture leads to hot and spicy melange of powerful rhythms and dance grooves. By mashing up the traditional music style of Soukous, Loketo, Afro beat and Nigerian highlife, this night creates a high energy dance sound that puts smiles on peoples faces and gets the temperature rising.

Featuring SANKOFA International Percussion, MC Lewis Scott Jazz Poet, standout singer songwriter Sam Manzanza ( Congo) and AFRO BEAT BAND, followed by Full Blown Fela Kuti Jamming out originals in Fela Kuti's hightlife, jazz style.
Africa Music Day is an experience worth getting dressed up for. DJ Dozen and the amazing TK PARADZA will be making an appearance on the night to make music to dance to. Tall Sabitine MC. African Dance Group MUHLE.

Havana Coffee Works have come to the party with giveaway vouchers for lush locally roaste espresso and Trade Aid & Kwanzaa are providing prizes for the best dancer contest. Events like this truly make Wellington the coolest little capital in the worid.

TICKETS: $10 on Sale now at Rough Peel Music, Vivian street; Trade Aid, Victoria streets, Kwanzaa Manners street and Baobab Cafe, Riddiford street Newtown.
