This work was performed at Auckland Fringe Festival 2011 where it won 4 awards; best performance dance, best production dance, Auckland Arts Festival Award, The Fringe Award and was re-presented during Tempo Auckland's Festival of Dance, Body Festival in Christchurch & Rice and Beans Gallery in Dunedin in 2011.
'Weg' means in German 'away' or 'path' and is inspired by nearly 2 years spent living in Berlin.
Come feast and share in a fiercely playful, ritualised performance art, video installation, dance celebration 'workshop' of self-exploitation. It will take you on an 'interactive' journey through the mind, body and detritus of the ghosted, 'objectified subject,' reflecting 'self as other,' with 10 accompanying musicians from NZ and Berlin.
