Description:Sweet rock`n`rollers from the Sth of the Auck. If I wasn`t high on all these post lunch farts I`d give you a better description on their indy pop sound.....just go to their myspace page...........................The Situations have toured Australia with the White Stripes, released their debut album in Europe and have just returned to Aotearoa after playing outstanding shows across Europe, taking in, England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and Italy, totalling 25 shows in 23 days. They will return to Europe later in 2008/early 2009, taking their second album back to European fans, this time including France, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and Poland. And in the middle of all of this they find time to be the hand-picked band for one-time Dunedin resident and crazed pop genius Bob Cardys Shaft project, as well as backing New Zealand Rock n Roll legend Ray Columbus at the Wild Things show late last year, and in support of the Dirtbombs in 08. With album number two on the way the boys are touring New Zealand through July before coming back to South Auckland to wrap things up, get the new record out and head back to Europe.................................... The Quick and The Dead formed in late 2005 in Auckland, New Zealand when Will Saunders (guitar, vox) returned from eight years in London, and met Alistair Walling (bass) and Ben Lockwood (drums). They have been playing in and around Auckland and have previously released an EP Destroy the Obstacle" and are due to release another EP of five songs called Heartbreak 365" in 18th April 2008 at the Whammy Bar in Auckland. The band describe their sound as maximumheartnsoulpsychpopmodrocknroll" and take in elements of all the best types of sounds from the 60s to now.Energy and Melody is the defining ethos of their music with lyrics detailing the human condition in all its forms; thought, love, loss confusion and light. The band will continue to gig through the coming months and are looking to tour later on in 2008.
