Rosy Tin Teacaddy plays a special homecoming afternoon tea-party concert at one of their old haunts, the newly resurrected Cabana.
The pair wrote and recorded their debut release, Blind Leading the Blind in a whirlwind two weeks last year and performed a sell-out fringe show embracing theatre, music and illusion. Since its release they have enjoyed radio support, heavy gig schedules and steady sales but now Betty and Billy are readying themselves for the next challenge their sophomore album to be recorded at the end of August with Wellingtons infamous Dr Lee Prebble, responsible for acts such as Fly My Pretties and The Black Seeds. The proceeds of Sundays concert will help fund this endeavour.
Rosy Tin Teacaddy shows are increasingly entertaining with music that straddles the genres of folk, country and pop, while incorporating subtle comedy and theatre. Unafraid to immerse an audience in wistful, fancy story telling and make-believe. There is a constant sense of fun with an underlying sincerity. This is not shoe-gazing, self-indulgent music; it is forthright, strident and begs to be listened to.
Joining them on stage will be another ex-local, guitarist and analog pedal guru, Ben Fulton and renowned Wellington cellist Janet Holborow. Dont miss out on hearing Wellingtons finest new folk.
