The Jansen ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ finalists are decided and set to converge in Wellington yet again.
The 2008 series of regional events are over, and from the 40 DJs that competed, only 8 remain. The spread of experience across the DJs is vast, with a few having played their first ever live gig at the regional, while some of the DJs have entered in over 3 years of RITJ competitions.
Rumble in the Jungle is a Drum and Bass DJ competition, in which DJs compete live in a club, showing off their mixing skill in a series of rounds to impress the judges. There are regional heats in the four cities of Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin with a final comprising of the top 2 DJs from each city being held in Wellington on October the 4th.
The finalist DJs selected for 2008 are – Drop (Dunedin), Dunk (Wellington), Import (Christchurch), Matchett (Wanaka), Merge (Auckland), Offset (Christchurch), Static (Auckland) and Wreckognize (Wellington).
The final will be hosted by Imon Star at the San Francisco Bath House on the 4th of October, with last years winning DJ, JMC, filling the guest DJ slot.
