The Liquid Lowdown proudly presents krakota, (Hospital Records) Tokyo Prose, Chiccoreli, Skelta, Mittz & Merks. Hosted by Jay Double

KRAKOTA (Hospital Records)

As one of the new breed of producers making waves from the coast, it’s fair to say Bournemouth based Sebastian Inwood, aka Krakota, has made a strong and steady incline during his drum & bass career to date. A career started aged 15 when, like many teenagers, he was drawn to DJ’ing after initially finding his musical feet playing the drums and piano. It was in 2006 when the music making bug first grabbed a hold of Seb, leading to nights spent holed up in his home studio learning the basics and honing his skills.

Fast forward to 2016 and he signed exclusively to one of the biggest D&B labels around in Hospital Records and released his debut album Strange System to much acclaim. With follow up projects already under way and a DJ diary packed with Hospitalities and shows across the continent, you can be sure there will be no way of escaping Krakota’s bass heavy, break laden productions any time soon.

TOKYO PROSE (The North Quarter)

Sam Reed aka Tokyo Prose is a New Zealand based Drum & Bass producer with releases on Soul:r, Samurai Music, Hospital Records. He now celebrates the release of his sophomore album “Wild Grace” with his debut on Lenzman’s emergent The North Quarter label.

His music is regularly supported by many of the scenes biggest names including Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Lenzman, LSB, DJ Marky, Presha, London Elektricity, SpectraSoul and many more.

Tokyo Prose started his career on Samurai Music with 2011’s Introducing Tokyo Prose’ EP which featured the standout tune Saving Grace”. In the same year, Tokyo Prose with Fis, went onto launch the Samurai Horo label including the track “The Truths” which has just featured on Forrest Swords’ 2018 DJ Kicks compilation.

In 2014 Tokyo Prose released his debut album ‘Presence’ on Samurai Music. ‘Presence’ marked the culmination of his musical exploration and evolution up until that point - encapsulating the soulful, emotive vibrancy of the Tokyo Prose sound, now fully formed and refined. The album featured a number of features with DRS, Riya and Fox on vocals and Lenzman, Synkro and LSB on co-production. The album showcased Tokyo Prose’s polished aesthetic with a firm focus on musicality and groove.

Soon after saw his first feature on Marcus Intalexs hugely respected label Soul:R with Tell Me, on the 5th edition of the popular Fourfit series.

Tokyo Prose returns with his sophomore album on The North Quarter. With Wild Grace the Auckland native returns from an extended absence to deliver a masterclass in emotive musical storytelling. The project features some of his most sought-after works and includes vocals from Steo, Cleveland Watkiss and rising star [ K S R ] as well as collaborations with Race Banyon, Nether and LSB
