Imagine being left on an island with Prince Tui Teka, Kid Creole and Elvis Presley and you go some way to entering the world of Sir Plus. Raised on a mixture of 60s Brit pop, 50s Motown and fed the falsehoods of 80s New Zealand stereotypes, Sir Plus is a social avenger. Like Batman, he is a law unto himself, albeit with a slightly dented heart of gold. A balladeer gone bad.
This one-hour musical performance combining humour and theatrical narrative and featuring rising young actress, Morgana OReilly, is fresh and defiant.
Directed by Rachel House, Tama is joined by a talented four-piece band and three gorgeous back-up singers "The Soultanas"- Anahera Higgins, Cherie Mathieson and Esther Stephens. With lighting design by Jeremy Fern, set design by John Verryt and costumes by Lindah Lepou, we are transported to a world where the only agenda is that you enjoy yourself.
