GUEST MUSICIAN: WALTER HACON
Walter Hacon is an exceptionally talented guitarist, singer and songwriter. He performed in London bands from a young age. “We were really quite punk in our outlook and playing abilities; tons of swagger and attitude.” In 1976 Walter auditioned for up-and-coming band the Automatics. “We did our first demo recordings with Steve Lillywhite at Phonogram. A recording contract with Island Records quickly followed, and we were off.” They toured the UK and Europe, then Walter got the chance to audition for Wreckless Eric on Stiff Records. A song of Walter’s Broken Doll’ was picked up by Cliff Richard and included on “Wired For Sound’, one of the best-selling records of the decade.
Walter played in various bands, recording personal projects and albums for other artists. In the late 90’s he moved to NZ, where he’s continued to pursue music here with regular gigging and song-writing. Check out 'Bethlehem’ from Walter’s album ‘Centre of the Human Heart’ here:
