Caicara cuisine is a type of food from the southeast/south coast of Brazil, particularly from the states of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Parana & Santa Catarina.
The term Caicara comes from Tupi-Guarani, meaning Men from the Coast, people who are a mix or Indigenous, Africans and Europeans.
It's a simple and rustic food, that comes from the sea and the Mata Atlantica (Tropical Rain Forest of South Coast of Brazil)
Caicara food was developed with this particular and authentic taste due to how these people were so isolated between the forest and the ocean.
