Singer/songwriter Brenda Liddiard will be sharing an intimate acoustic concert at artHAUS gallery, as part of the E Tiaki - Take care exhibition programme. Entry is free, but there will be a koha jar, and CDs for sale ($20).
With a history steeped in the folk revival of the 1960's in the UK, her eldest brother's love of Americana, and a passionate involvement in environmental and anti-nuclear campaigns, Brenda has been writing songs and playing guitar and mandolin since the 1970’s. Her recent songs cover topics from climate change to refugee issues, menopause (and beyond!), with a touch of humour here and there. Her album, Box of Memories, was a finalist for Best Folk Album Tui Award, and she was recently a guest at the Auckland Folk Festival.
“Thank you, Brenda, for an evening of amazing music.
You made us think, cry and laugh with your wonderful heartfelt songs. This was an evening of music never to be forgotten”
