About Atsushi & the Moisties:
Fun-lovin, panty-sellin Auckland-based seven-piece, that plays ska and reggae inspired by 1960-70s Jamaica. Influences include The Skatalites, Maytals, Heptones, Lyn Taitt and Harry J All Stars amonst others. Their horn section leads the melody, in place of a vocalist. Began as a solo project in 2003 and went to a full-band line-up in mid-2006.

Long-running and somewhat legendary Auckland-based ska-rock big band. Nearly 20 year history, and evolving lineup features former members of Future Stupid, Skatilator, Rubicon. Have played Toots and Grooves, Scallop Festival, Parihaka, Prana New Years Festival, Titirangi Festival of Music, Sweetwaters, Strawberry Fields, Oakune Mardigras, One Love, J-Day. Have supported Bad Manners (UK), andRoyal Rumble, amongst many, many others.
