...coinciding with National Children’s Day
In 2009 we were pleased to continue to develop the event into a Family Fun Day in correlation with National Children’s Day – there was a themed children’s corner which proved to be a huge hit with characters from The Wizard of Oz handing out lollies and gifts to the children- there were heaps of activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, balloon animals created by Pom Pom the Clown, guess how many lollies in the witches hat, and more. Alongside this we had fantastic music from Materoa + Maru Whakangahau Kapa Haka Group and local band Remastered who got the crowd up dancing. Despite the wind we had approximately 1000 people in attendance throughout the day. Thank you all for your ongoing support and we look forward to seeing you at the 2010 Picton Summer Concert in conjunction with National Children’s Day. Plans will soon be underway for this event so pencil this date in your diary and head on down to the Foreshore for some family fun.
