So... word on the street is that you people wanna party. Seeing as we be in a position to - shall we say - OFFER that, I feel we can come to some kind of ARRANGEMENT.
The place?
A little speakeasy named LIVE BAR, on Hobson St. You former metallers may remember it as the ole Oblivion.. for everyone else, its opposite Dennys by the Sky Tower.
Ok, you say.
Bands, buddies, broads, brews, you say.
Whats the catch.
No catch. Just come join the family... preferably dressed in your slickest Soprano Suit to comfortably enjoy the sweet blues, funk and rock bands we provided for you.
Well dress them up like mafia dons (and wed like you dress up, too), charge you $5 to pay the soundguy, then give you some cheap cheap drinks, 3 bands and a DJ.
Shit, we even got a best-dressed prize lined up for you people.
It doesnt get much better than that, does it? No, it doesnt. Even my boy Joey TightLips knows that, but hes sleepin widda fishes right now. Kapeesh?

DRIVETOWN
http://www.myspace.com/afratone
Drivetown is a dynamic four-piece alternative rock band with a live reputation as big as the sound they produce. Formerly called Afratone, they won the AUT Battle of the Bands in late 2007, and dozens of hard-hitting live performances soon followed, with the band being booked for numerous orientation performances around New Zealand in 2008, coinciding with a limited release mini-album titled ‘Lights and Shades’, and a shoestring budget video for the song ‘Disappear’ that received rotation on Alt TV and Juice TV. After 2008 highlights supporting the likes of Pluto, The Electric Confectionaires, and Deja Voodoo, the band spent countless hours practising and writing at their second home – ‘Drivetown’ in suburban Auckland, in preparation for the eagerly-anticipated debut album, currently two weeks into production. 2009 has seen Drivetown share the stage with The Mint Chicks and Shihad, as well as many of New Zealands best alternative rock acts. Mid 2009, the release of first single ‘This Day, Four Years’ has brought a new set of fans, whilst the band themselves throw themselves headlong into a music industry that may not know who they are, but will definitely have heard them coming.
