Cornerstone Roots third album is well under way. In between a busy winter schedule the band have been writing songs and working on pre production for their 3rd full-length release. Opting to record in Raglan the band have chosen to lay tracks down in their home studio where the vibes are already relaxed and conducive to writing deeper music with greater feeling.
After a string of successful shows in the sth island this winter the band head to Auckland on 9/11 to play The Rising Sun- K’ RD. Expect a full night of original sounding reggae music with depth and power.
Joining the band Auckland favorites The Midnights represent live reggae at its raw and exciting best.
Built around a core group of four talented musicians (Leo Horgan- Guitar/Vocals, Tobias Wright- Bass, Chris Varnham- Nord/Melodica/Sampler and Berin Hunter- Drums) The Midnights have developed an original reggae sound rich in lyric and infused with a hypnotic blend of roots, psychedelic soul, jazz, rock and rhythm & blues. The group have been laying low recently putting the finishing touches on their debut album (due November) and are excited to be playing to their home crowd once again!
Longtime AK DJ Dubhead will be kicking off the night at 9pm and new comers Second Chapter from H-Town will be playing their first show in Auckland. The band play a mixture of old school stomping 4 on the floor reggae roots music with catchy tunes and meaningful lyric.
