Safe and Sound

Safe and Sound

Thu Oct 22nd, 2009

Family Planning International, in association with Radio Active, announce ‘Safe and Sound’, a concert of New Zealand female musicians in support of maternal health in the Pacific. The varied line-up includes Lisa Tomlins, Jess Chambers, Iva Lamkum, Tessa Rain and DJ Ayesha.

Everyday, at least 5 women die during pregnancy or childbirth in the Pacific. At the global level, every minute another woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth. This is largely a preventable tragedy. This concert aims to increase support and action in New Zealand for maternal health and related sexual and reproductive health in the Pacific.
