Pump Up The Volume winter tour...
Date Added : 8th June, 2010 @ 20:13
Christchurch electro-pop group Ed Muzik and the Burning Sensations look to warm up this winter, leaving the wind-swept Christchurch for a quick jaunt around the tropical south of the South Island for 3 free shows. The “Pump Up The Volume” winter tour sees the band take in the sights and give out the sounds in Dunedin, Wanaka and Queenstown.
Ed Muzik was recently down south, supporting Minuit on the southern leg of their tour, though he thinks that these shows will have a more intimate flavour. “When we played Dunedin with Minuit, we had a massive crowd barrier set up. It was a wall between us and the audience - both physical and metaphorical. This time round, I’m hoping to be able to touch the crowd - both physically and metaphorically.”
Ed Muzik and the Burning Sensations are touring in support of their new single “Pump Up The Volume” and the accompanying video. Released to much fanfare in the middle of New Zealand music month, the video quickly went on to become the 81st most viewed video (NZ Musicians) for the month on the Youtube charts. Not satisfied to sit back on their laurels, the band are pumped to get their sound out to some new fans.
Coming along for each of the shows will be Christchurch hip-hop electro producer & MC double-team Rare Shot Blue. Japanese-born producer Hideto Kobayashi aka Rare Shot Blue also features live-wire lyricist Kommi. When they aren’t working on their new album, Rare Shot Blue are probably producing another music video - they’ve already done a bagillion, which are up on their website for your viewing pleasure.
