Cybiont

I was looking for a challenge & found it. Review of Cybiont 3

Cybiont’s third release was a refreshing album to review. It’s a lot different to everything I have reviewed before but I was looking for a challenge and I found it. With the album titles of 'Music from a Living Universe' and 'Dark Side of my Spoon', I was a bit sketchy but was very shortly presently surprised.

From the first track I was thrown into deep memories of listing to Nick Cave during summer road trips during my youth. These memories creep up on me just like both albums have. Not so much a two CD set but more of a adventure that is mostly harmless but boosts emotional flavours leaving you wanting more.

'Music from a Living Universe' is an emotional soup supplied to allow you to explore different dimensions to expand your imagination. The third track entitled 'Sounds' was my favourite track with vocals from Melissa Malthus providing the catch.

'Dark Side of my Spoon' is ponderous and dark and the lyrics are his storytelling. To quote “Dark Side of my Spoon, goes to other places, evoking feelings that I would not like others to carry”, which is the feeling I get due to the different undertone unravelled through the speakers.

This is a great album to chill to with undertones of the Velvet Underground or the Cure.

Give it a try and you just may like it.
