You know how you were afraid to come to Kingsland for the last two months, cause you'd be swept away in a sea of flags and spat out on the pavement by the 'Kingslander', with sprig marks on your face ... well, there's a NEW BAR IN TOWN and it's gonna change EVERYTHING! Actually, it's an old bar, and it's got a really dramatic name ('Sports Bar') but guess what ... sport is DEAD .. and punk REIGNS AGAIN! (Or maybe for the first time ...) because on Saturday night, December 10th, for the first time ever, The Sports Bar will host a ROCK line-up ... and you can be part of the revolution, this mass metal mobilization over the motorway. EVIL, semi-repatriated London powerful trio featuring David Mitchell, Liz Mathews and Roddy Pain, are the headliners, but there's also OCTOPUS (think Norweigian fisherwoman metal), STUD (a disco gangstress), MY-OH (from Dunedin, which makes it international) and DJ Raw Chicken (damaged and danceable). But that's NOT ALL: there are $5 pints, specials on Woodies and Cruisers, and free karaoke on five screens. Yes ... it's a real sports bar, but with great live music ... don't miss this, cause otherwise you'll be the one rolling their eyes in boredom when everyone else shares their anecdotes about how they were there on the FIRST NIGHT.
