One of the great folk artists of the last two decades in New Zealand, multi award-winning songwriter Bob McNeill brings his acclaimed new album TWELVE DREAMS OF THE RIVER to an intimate concert at Whangateau Hall.
Bob McNeill is one of New Zealand's best-known folk songwriters. His songs have been covered by artists in NZ, Australia, the UK and USA. New Zealand Musician magazine compared his songwriting to Bruce Springsteen and Mark Knopfler; the Dominion Post likened him to Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Luka Bloom and Dougie MacLean. A compelling storyteller, his songs paint vivid pictures of the moments of decision in people's lives. He has three New Zealand Music Awards (Tuis), all for Best Folk Album. His first solo tour in a decade showcases his unique songwriting, celebrated guitar playing and gorgeous live sound.
TWELVE DREAMS OF THE RIVER is the brand new album from acclaimed New Zealand songwriter Bob McNeill. Featuring his signature rich songwriting, the album explores themes of life, age and transition, re-imagined as a trip down three iconic rivers - the Manuherikia in the South Island, the Waikato in the North Island, and the Kelvin in his native Scotland. It's McNeill's most intimate work to date, with some of his most beautiful songs.
