Wellington’s Filipino community will host Salo-Salo: A Filipino Food Fair and Charity Concert on 14 March 2026 at 25 Phillip Street, Johnsonville, bringing together food, music, and community spirit in support of Mary Potter Hospice.
“Salo-Salo” which means “to gather and share food with others,” reflects the heart of Filipino culture — connection, hospitality, and bayanihan (community support). The event opens at 2:00pm with a Filipino food fair featuring popular Filipino dishes, followed by a live concert at 5:00pm.
The concert lineup includes Juan43 Band, Project Juliette, Fusepoint Band, and Cousins, showcasing local Filipino talent and celebrating the growing cultural presence of the Filipino community in Wellington.
Profit from this event will go directly to Mary Potter Hospice, supporting its vital palliative care services for patients and families in Wellington, Porirua and Kapiti.
The festival is proudly supported by Freemasons New Zealand and welcomes the wider Wellington community to attend.
Tickets are available online. Organisers encourage early booking and invite everyone to “come for the food, stay for the music, and be part of a cause that makes a difference.”
