DJ QBert (USA) + Alphabethead (NZ)
Two titans of the turntables. One night only.
Three-time DMC World Champion DJ QBert is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential DJs of all time. His dominance at the DMC World Championships in the early ’90s redefined what was possible with two turntables and he is widely credited with transforming the turntable from a device used to play records into a respected, expressive musical instrument. Decades later, his innovation, technical mastery and cultural impact remain unmatched. Seeing QBert live is not just a show, it is witnessing the evolution of hip hop craft in real time.
Sharing the bill is Aotearoa’s own 2002 New Zealand DMC Champion Alphabethead, a shining star of experimental hip hop and razor-sharp turntablism. With a career spanning international tours, acclaimed projects both solo and in bands Bad Taste and The All Seeing Hand, Alphabethead represents the very best of New Zealand DJ culture.
This is a rare meeting of eras, styles and legacies at the highest level of turntablism. Miss it, and you will be hearing about it for years to come.
