The Undercurrent presents the Wellington Calling Open Mic!
The Undercurrent is now hosting the Wellington Calling Open Mic and we're looking for diverse acts to contribute! Each performer gets the chance to have a six- minute set with a microphone, guitar and piano provided. This is an originals only event. We want to encourage new creative voices to be heard. “We want to provide a positive and encouraging environment for established and fledgling acts to shine in. Its a pretty inspiring place to perform,” says host Steven Hood.
Each performer will need to sign up in person before 7pm and registrations of interest need to be emailed to openwandw@gmail.com before March 19.
The feature act is Tom Kane aka No mans heath. Tom is an English singer-songwriter who has made Wellington his home. His songs are insightful and delicate and have been described as a beautiful exercise in restraint. Expect folk minimalism which underpins heartful complexities.
