INTRODUCTION
Following their first headline show of the year earlier this month, The Pillocks return to Geihinkan on Friday 27th March for Night 2.
With the new lineup in full swing and more new material in the mix, the band will be looking to make this second show even bigger. Whether you made it along to the first night or not, this will be another great chance to catch the band live!
Joining The Pillocks on Night 2 are indie-rock band Noah Nite and acoustic performer Samuel Max, bringing together three unique acts for a great night of live music.
Once again, tickets are only $5. We wanted to keep things as accessible as possible so anyone can come along (and besides, cheaper tickets means you’ve got a few extra dollars left for the bar haha).
ABOUT THE ACTS
THE PILLOCKS
The Pillocks are an alternative pop/rock band from Auckland drawing inspiration from the great bands of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, but writing songs that still feel fresh and modern.
Straying from the typical 3–4 piece band arrangement of guitars, bass and drums, The Pillocks expand their sound with layered keyboards and saxophone, creating a fuller, more colourful sound that makes the live show feel like an experience rather than just a set of songs.
At the centre of it all are uplifting melodies, meaningful lyrics and songs that are meant to be felt as much as heard. It’s a style that tries to be as accessible and touching as possible, and something the band is excited to keep developing.
NOAH NITE
Noah Nite is a three-piece indie-rock abnd from Auckland, New Zealand. Known for raw, energetic guitar riffs, melodic vocals and introspective lyricism, the band has quickly made a name for themselves across Tamaki Makaurau's alternative music scene.
SAMUEL MAX
Samuel Max is a soulfull sombre singer songwriter with a similar sound to nick drake and elliot smith. He utilises close intimate vocals alongside intricatly picked guitar parts to create a rich sonic tapestry.
